“Plant a tree, collect the fruits” Line of gourd mates that are morphologically intervened from the beginning of the fruit's growth. In this way, the original product is added value by promoting regional economies.
The work presented here was carried out in the experimental organic garden of the Faculty of Agronomy-UBA between November 2017 and April 2018, with the advice of agrono- mist Cristóbal Rodríguez.
In the unfathomable world of everyday objects, the Miraculous Mates incorporate a sublime element: Nature. Humanity’s struggle against nature is one of the great primal myths: from Prometheus to Frankenstein, it builds a narrative of rivalry between Heaven and Earth. In this fruit of the gourd family, the miracle is the conjunction of these dualities. The Miraculous Mate not only profanes the priesthood's mimicry but — in the Frankensteinian act of wanting to be God— gathers the sanctity of the earth. The divine image is born from the life cycle of the seed in an attempt to return celestial pleasure to matter. This mate is the revenge of the Tupí-Guaraní peoples against the Conquest of the Father over the Veneration of the Mother. We do not drink Christ’s blood here, but the yerba that grows from the fertile soil. Just like the totemic dinners of the ancients, we ingest the Father as a form of communion with the telluric forces of the Cosmos. Bondi disrupts the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to establish that of the Earth, Labor, and Justice, and writes on my wall: The Pope is a Peronist because the land belongs to those who work it!
